From 2026-09-01 to 2026-10-12, we asked four AI engines the same local question every day for HVAC companies in Atlanta GA, Houston TX, and Phoenix AZ. Perplexity named at least one business in 110 of 113 saved answers (97.3%), OpenAI in 62 of 123 (50.4%), Anthropic Claude in 0 of 123 (0.0%), and Gemini in 10 of 10 (100.0%, Gemini answered on fewer days, so it has its own denominator).

Someone whose AC has stopped can ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, or Claude and get a reply in plain language. In this record the engines behave very differently: some name a business in most answers and some in few or none, and the business at the top changes from day to day on several of them. That is why each engine is checked separately and by date.
