Method: a business counts for an engine on every answer day whose saved answer text names it (whole words, full name), out of that engine's own answer days; the same rule applies to all four engines, and review sites, directories and bar associations are kept out of the business lists. Zeros stay printed. The data file is /data/explorer_data.json.

How it works
- Ask the same local question.We put the same city and niche question to OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity through their developer connections, and read the Google results page for it. Gemini answers are included where they came back.
- Save it with a date.Every saved answer is dated. Each row in Edition 1 carries a SHA-256 fingerprint of its raw file, and a public script checks every file against a manifest.
- Count it with the denominator.We print, for each engine, how many answer days came back and on how many of them its answer text names each business. Engines are never blended into one total. Zeros stay printed. The data lives at proof.namebeam.ai, and the record gets more useful as the days add up.
